I had THE best Mother's Day! I got up and went to church with my little boy. He made me the sweetest card in Sunday School. It is a red card with his picture on the front cut out into the shape of a heart! So when I got home from Church, Mallory met me here. We then left Lance here with Chris, and went to get our nails and feet done. It was the most amazing pedicure I have ever had. They even did a parafin wax on my feet! Then after relaxing in the massage chair for an hour and a half, we hit up the mall where I got 2 new shirts! I could have gotten more if I wanted, but that's all I found that i liked. I know right, when I am ALLOWED to go shopping I can never find anything. Doesn't it always work out that way? So when I get home from the mall, Chris had ordered me a new laptop (a little netbook!) and a new digital camera! I am SO EXCITED!
Well, Lance needs a new pull up so I will have to write nore later!

Happiness
So I was recently (about a minute ago, lol) browsing on a frequently visited by me website called www.getorganizedwizard.com. I found an article on How to be Happier. An instant contentment boost is to list things that you are grateful for, counting your blessings, and the like. So here I go... I am going to attempt ten things that I am grateful for in my life.
1. My beautiful son, the light of my life.
2. My wonderful husband who makes every day just a little better with a kiss.
3. I am grateful that I live in nice, quiet Frisco, TX. Where the crime rate is low and family values are high.
4. I am grateful for my husband's job which allows me to be a SAHM. I can raise my son how I see fit and get my day full of chores, and errands done.
5. I am grateful for my church. I have found a great church that welcomed me as family as soon as I walked in the door. That is so hard to find and I am so glad that I did.
6. I am grateful for all of the wonderful people I have in my life! My grandmother is at the very top of my list. She is my rock, and I don't know where I would be without her.
7. Healthcare. I am so grateful for the health insurance that we have. Sounds weird to put that on this list, but it makes life so much nicer knowing that if Lance gets a fever I can take him to the dr with no hassle.
8. My dog. I am grateful for her because no matter how bad I am feeling, she can make is all better with just a little nuzzle of her snout. She loves me unconditionally!
9. Speaking of love.... I am grateful for all the love that I have to give and that is returned to me. After all, what is a life without love?
10. My apt. I am grateful for my apartment. It is not the mansion I used to dream of living in as a child, but it is a nice, and cozy home. Where I can make homemade meals for my family, and of course, it is a ROOF over our head at night.
There's my list! I encourage all of you to make one of your own. I will be making one periodically to remind myself what a lucky girl I really am!

Busy Busy Bee
I have been a busy girl lately. I have been keeping up with my HMB regularly and my house looks great! I make homemade meals for dinner and breakfast. Lunch us usually something frozen or leftover from the night before. So I thought I would let you into my life a little bit more and tell you my morning schedule (and keep in mind, this is just for the morning!)
Wake up at 6:30, wash face, brush teeth
Take meds
Start Coffee
Start Laundry
Unload and reload the dishwasher.
Wake Lance/brush his teeth
Get Lance Breakfast
Straighten Living room
Run any errands that need to be run before Chris gets up for work
Lay out Chris' Clothes
Make bed (after he drags his but out of bed)
Straighten bathroom (wipe down counters, etc)
Make Chris breakfast
And then after that, I start my actual cleaning for the day. I ususally have at least one of two rooms that I focus on a day so I dont get overwhelmed. I deep clean those rooms.
So, there you have it, and all of this BEFORE 12:30.
Anyways, does anybody have any special mother's day plans? I do NOT. Chris kinda sucks with the gift giving and surprise things. I AM however going to get my nails filled and a pedicure tomorrow after church. Hopefully since it is mother's day, Chris will watch Lance so I can actually relax during my pedicure. Maybe I can talk Chris into taking me out to lunch or dinner so I don't have to cook! Idk, I wish he would just come up with that stuff on his own, lol.

Home Management Binder
So, I have really been trying hard to be a "domestic diva" a "domestic engineer" if you will. I have been busting my butt around here to keep it clean and tidy and every other word for spick and span that you can think of. It just had not been working for me for so long. I was unmotivated, unorganized and just plain lazy! BUT I read a book called Happy Housewives : I used to be a whining, complaining, desperate housewife, but I snapped out of it and you can too! by Darla Shine. The book really inspired me to be a REAL homemaker. But I knew I would need some help staying on task. I did some research and read that a lot of women make Home Management Binders. So I gave it a shot. My home management binder contains the following. When you first open it up is my menu for the week. Then behind that is my grocery list that I am keeping for the next week. As soon as I think of something we will need, I write it down, or as soon as we run out of something, I write it down. Next start my dividers. Planning, which contains my to do lists that I make. I make one a day and keep them all so I can keep track of my progress. This section also has my chore list. So if I write down that I need to clean the kitchen, I can flip to my chore list and see exactly what to do in the kitchen.
The next divider is "Phone Numbers". This is where I keep take out menus and keep a list of all of mine and Chris' phone numbers in case something happens to either cell phone, or a babysitter cannot get ahold of one of us or whatever.
Next is "Home Management". This section contains printed out calenders, one per month. I write down every appointment, play date and errand on it that way i dont forget. I also check the calendar every day and write down that day's running around on the to do list for the day.
Next section is for the bills that come in the mail. The ones that need to be paid. After they are paid, I remove them so I know what still needs to be paid and what doesnt.
The last section is for "Meals". This is were I keep extra meal plan forms which i make and print out on the computer. I also keep old menus here so I can look back if I am having trouble deciding what to pu ton a menu, and get ideas.
I also keep extra paper and a pen in my notebook at all times.
So there ya have it, my saving grace. With the help of my HMB (for short) my house looks amazing, my life is organized and in order, and everyone is much happier!
You should make one and see the difference that it makes in YOUR life!

Just an update on me!
So, I have been searching for more things to do with my son... as you already know. I came across this website just minutes ago and looks like something I want to do. http://www.angelfire.com/tx4/momsclubfriscotx/childrens.htm
It's a club for mom's and kids and they organize a bunch of activities per month. Like Park days, and play groups and field trips. I am pretty excited about it, I emailed them for more information.
Also this swine flu thing has gotten me so paranoid. Go figure that this stuff would come up right before my trip to Mexico right? I even took Lance to the doSoctor today for a cough because I was cared that it might be swine flu. I know, paranoid.
So, my dad called me today with major attitude saying the wedding is off. He was all like, are you happy now...? Well, as it turns out she doesnt want to marry him unless his family is happy with it and well, since I am pretty much his only family, and I don't support it... tough titties for him. lol. Then he called back and said that he doesnt know if the wedding is on or off, they have to get together to talk. Bleh....
Thats all for now...

Child's Dough Hand Prints
Ok, so while I was researching some things for Lance and I to do together... I came across this recipe to make your child's handprints in dough.
Materials needed:
2 C Flour
1 C Salt
1 C Water
Food Coloring
Matching Ribbon
Sharpie or paint pen
Rolling pin
Wax paper
Butter knife
Directions:
Preheat oven to 200. Add food coloring to water. Then add in flour and salt. Mix together until all smooth. Dough should be stiff. Roll into a ball and them place on wax paper. Roll out to about 1/2 inch thickness. Dump the wax paper upside down on a cookie sheet. Trim up edges or cut into a shape (ie. heart, circle, square) with butter knife. Place child's hand in the middle and press down. Careful not to press down too hard because you don't want to go all the way down to the bottom. Cut two holes in the top of the dough (to string the ribbon through). Place in oven and bake for 2 1/2 hours. Careful not to over bake. Remove from oven and let cool. Once cooled off you may write your child's name and date above or under the handprint and string the ribbon through the holes so you can hang.
**When we did this I had to dust flour over the top of it so Lance didn't get dough all over his hands.
Will post picture when it is done baking!
Have Fun!

You thought I had forgotten about you did you!?
Well, it has been one month to the day since I have written a blog. I was sitting here during my morning down time (before Lance wakes up), reading my book. The book got me thinking. I am reading Happy Housewives: I used to be a whining, complaining, desperate housewife, but I snapped out if it, you can too! The book has 10 steps to being a happy housewife. I must admit, I am actually taking things from the book and learning a lot. She mentions things that I have never even thought about. Well I was on Step 8: Take time for yourself, when I realized that if i wake up every morning at 7 since Lance wakes up at 8... I will have an hour of "mommy time".
I have been so busy lately with trying to keep my house up to par with what my husband expects, and what all of us deserve, that I have been totally neglecting my mental state, lol. I HAVE been doing my makeup and hair every day and actually getting dressed in the mornings, and this alone has made me feel tons better. If you don't do this, you should try it. It has made me feel so much better about myself. I don't feel just like a frumpy housewife anymore. It makes my day go a lot smoother just because I don't feel so bad.
On another note, my dad is getting married. I know! WTF right? Anyways, he is doing it this week and I told him that he wont see me there because I don't think it is appropriate.
Also, since he is getting married, selling the house and the things in it, and moving... I decided that there were some things of my mother's that I wanted. So yesterday, my uncle Kevin and my grandmother and I went out to my dad's and got me my mom's piano, her antique vanity, and photo albums and books and other things. So that was the entire day yesterday, and let me tell you, that piano is probably 400 lbs.
Well, Lance is wanting some attention so I better go for now, but dont worry, it wont take me a month to get back. I plan on being very active with my blog again.
Thanks for stoppin by!
