Mommy

Minutes after my post this morning, I recieved a frantic call from my dad. I can still hear those words echoing in my mind. "Mom is dead". Heh, I even asked him (and you have to know my dad to know my reasoning in asking this)"Are you fu**ing with me?" But I could instantly tell by the sound of his voice that he wasn't. My mom is in fact gone.

What do you do when your mom passes away for no apparent reason? The story goes like this. Mom wakes up and says she is tired and for my dad to turn on the coffee pot and start a fire. 20 min later he goes to bring her her morning cup of coffee in bed. She isn't breathing. In that short amount of time, she had left us.

How do you just not have a mother anymore? And why do things like this happen? If I had not seen her on the stretcher in the hospital (she was DOA) I would not believe it. Hell, I still barely even comprehend the fact that I can't pick up the phone and call her.

What do I tell my 2 year old son when he wants his "Lala"? He is too young to understand that his Lala has gone off to a better place. My heart is broken. Not just because of my own grief but for my family around me. For my daddy, who just lost the love of his life and partner in this world. For my grandmother who just lost her only daughter. For my son who lost an amazing grandmother who he loved so very much.

I guess all I have left to say is that I hope heaven is all that she expected as she stood strong in her faith. I am so glad that she is no longer in pain because she suffered tremendously from Rheumatoid Arthris.

In closing.... Momma, I love you.

Routine

So I have a morning routine... Kid wakes me up, I send him back to bed (2xs)Then I get up and start the coffee, stumble to the bathroom and wash my face. After that I venture into kiddie land and change a pullup. By this time coffee is done and I make that oh so amazing first cup, dish out breakfast, and sit down with my computer in my lap. Visit myspace, see if there is anything interesting going on, go do a little twittering, and make my way here.

If only the rest of my life were this simple and relaxed. Maybe i need a routine for everything. In fact I probably need to make a cleaning routine/schedule that way i dont forget anything and i actually do it all instead of saying I am going to do it. For instance, I ALWAYS clean my kitchen, probably a few times a day, after I put away the coffee, and after I do the dishes, and always after I cook. So the Kitchen.... is not a problem. But I need to develop a system to keep my bedroom, living room, well pretty much everyroom in the house in order. My husband likes to come home to a tidy house. And since I am just a housewife and a mother, I should be able to do that, and I just barely sqeek by which annoys him. He thinks that since i am home day in and day out that everything should be spotless, and i agree it should!

Any ideas as to actually getting it done?

Dadgumit no internet!

So, I have no internet today. I have tried everything I can think of to fix it and nothing. I guess my computer savvy husband will have to fix it when he gets home on his lunch break.

So until then, I am blogging the ghetto rigged way…. Writing in word and then copy and paste, lol.

Girls night out last night was a huge success! We went to see 4 Christmases at The Studio Movie Grill. It was hilarious! It also had a heartwarming ending just like Christmas movies should. Reese Witherspoon played such a great role! And since I was At the SMG, I ordered a fantastic spinach artichoke dip! It was so good, but I ate too much of it and my belly started hurting. It was so nice to get out of the house with some of my girl friends and just be a woman, not a mother, not a wife, just do something for me. Above is a pic of Jen and me from last night

That’s all that is floating around in my brain at the moment, ttya’ll later!

Christmas Strata Breakfast Casserole

Melt 2 tbs butter in the bottom of a 9x13 casserole dish.

Place single layer of bread (I like to use cookie cutters for the bread!) on the bottom of the dish. Sprinkle chunks of sausage (or ham or bacon) over the bread, and a generous layer of cheese over that. Cover with another layer of bread and brush top of the bread with melted butter.

Pour milk and egg mixture (4 eggs and 2 C of milk) evenly over the layers.

Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 325 degrees in the morning for about an hour.

As seen on "The Family Stone"

I am a little dissapointed

I want people to read my blog, and interact with it. But I have no followers, I am so sad. :( What to do what to do... Isn't it pointless to blog unless somebody reads it?

I should know better...

Than to start reading a book when i don't have an entire day to waste engrossing myself in it. I love to read. My favorite authors are Mary Higgens Clark and Nora Roberts. I love the romantic suspense novels. But then again, i will read just about anything. My alltime favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I love the lessons that you learn throughout the book. It is also excellently written. Right now I am tied up in the love affair of Lilah Calhoun and Dr. Maxwell Quartermain and the mystery of the missing emeralds in Nora Roberts' Mini Series "The Calhoun Women". I am reading Lilah and Suzanne.

I love escaping into another world and just reading. Once I start I have to drag myself away. Especially when I have a house to clean and laundry to do, lol.

Good Mornin' World

Wow, I am super tired this morning! Thank goodness I have this AMAZING cup of coffee to help me out! My little boy is watching Franklin, and my husband is sleeping. On Franklin they are "tapping" trees to make their own maple syrup. Which reminds me of Christmas. I know, its a stretch but here's why.

I got my Christmas ham yesterday! And I am going to make my very own (and also very first) Maple Brown sugar glazed ham! I wish I could be as crafty as Franklin and his friends and have my very own maple syrup so my ham would be even more homemade from scratch! What's on your Christmas menu? Here is mine!

Maple Brown Sugar Ham
Homemade mashed potatoes
Homemade Mac and cheese
Green Bean Casserole
Rolls

Thats Christmas Dinner, and I am going to make an amazing breakfast for us to eat before we open presents! I am making Baked French Toast!

You mix together, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, sugar, and milk
You cut french toast into 12 slices, about 1 to 1 1/2 inch thick and place them in a casserole dish, pour the egg mixture over the bread and refrigerate over night. Put in the oven at 350 degrees for about 35 min or until tops are slightly turning brown and..... tada!!! You can Dust with Powdered sugar if you want!

Thats all for now, when my brain fills up again ill come back ..lol.

BTW, you should go check out my Twitter over there ---------------->
